MyFitnessPal Hacks – Customize Daily Macronutrient Goals [Video Tutorial]

If you have MyFitnessPal Premium you can customize your macros for different days! This is a really cool feature to help you program for refeed days or lower carbohydrate days. Why would you need to do this? Well if you’reĀ
carb cycling for example or you have heavy training volume days then you may want to manipulate your macronutrients to fuel your body appropriately.

Here’s a step by step “how-to” of customizing your daily macronutrient goals. Feel free to scroll to the bottom and check out our video tutorial.

Step 1

Select
…More in the bottom right hand corner of your home screen.

Step 2

Select
Goals.

Step 3

On the
Goals page select Calorie & Macronutrient Goals.

Step 4

From the
Calories & Macros screen page, select Add Daily Goal.

Step 5

You’ll be taken to the
Add Custom Goals screen. From here, select the day of the week you would like to change your macros for.

Step 6

Using the dial to adjust whichever macronutrient you want to manipulate. In this example, I’m lowering my carbohydrate intake from 200g to 120g.

Select the check mark for the change to be made. You’ll see the customized day with it’s macros saved in the
Calories & Macros Goals screen.

If you also go to your chosen customized day in your diary, you’ll see that the changes have been accounted for.

Whether you’re cutting weight for a competition, fueling up for an event or simply looking to bust through a plateau, taking advantage of this feature to customize your daily macronutrient goals is super helpful! If you need some guidance on when it might be appropriate to adjust your macros the best option would be to jump on a
one-on-one coaching call with either Jason or Roz.
