6 of the Best Donuts in Florida

1. Jupiter Donut Company (Tampa)
There is no debate. Cinnamon Toast Crunch is THE best cereal out there. Well, that’s in the world according to Jason. So of course I couldn’t resist picking up a Cinnamon
Toast Crunch donut for him when I stopped in at Jupiter Donut Company in Tarpon Springs. If you’re in the Tampa area make sure you check out Best Food Feed Tampa’s guide to 15 doughnuts worth the calories for the full inside scoop on the best donuts in your area. I think you’d be hard pressed to find any better than at Jupiter Donut Company but it would be fun to try anyways right!?
Obviously I didn’t leave the shop with just one donut! I did foolishly only get one red velvet donut with cream cheese frosting though. You live and learn!

2. Mojo Donuts Pembroke Pines (Hollywood)
I swung by the Pembroke Pines location of Mojo Donuts one weekend when I was in Fort Lauderdale on the hunt for my wedding dress! As stressful as an experience that can be, stress was not the driving force behind a visit to this novelty doughnut shop. I’d heard some great things about their gourmet donuts and decided Jason and I needed to see if they lived up to our high standards. Although the shop front and location is unassuming these scratch made donuts definitely live up to the hype! They have just about every flavor and delicious combination you could think of and more! I was so overwhelmed by the choice that I got 6 on Saturday and went back for another 6 on Sunday 🙂 There’s a damn good reason these guys have been featured on The Food Network and the Cooking Channel and it’s because their donuts are that damn good!
3. Mojo Donuts & Fried Chicken (Miami)
The Miami location of Mojo Donuts serves up the same gourmet, delicious donuts that you find at their other location, PLUS fried chicken! I wasn’t there for the chicken though, I only had one thing on my mind, or actually a dozen of them 🙂 I was SUPER happy to see that they had the salty caramel cheesecake on offer. If you’re a fan of cheesecake at all (how could you not be?!) then this tasty creation will blow your mind and your taste buds too! Don’t leave without getting one of these – the Nutella Bacon and the Slutty Brownie are pretty epic too. Hmm who am I kidding, they’re all AMAZING!

4. The Salty Donut (Miami)
No visit to Miami is complete without a wander around the hipster neighborhood of Wynwood. Fortunately for us donut addicts you can soak up some culture and then stroll on over to The Salty Donut to get your sugar and caffeine fix on like Donky Kong! This artisanal donut shoppe serves up craft donuts and specialty coffee. Each week they offer an additional six specialty flavored donuts which means you basically have an excuse to stop in every day! YAY!

Pictured below, a seasonal specialty of Peanut Butter & Chocolate with peanut butter caramel filling and topped with chocolate ganache, frosted peanuts and caramel popcorn; a traditional glazed Brown Butter and Salt; the Nutella filled with Nutella cream, topped with chocolate and sprinkled with crushed hazelnuts. Gahhhhh!

5. My French Cafe (Orlando)
Not an actual donut shop but a French patisserie serving up…wait for it…custard filled CRONUTS! The delicate layers of pastry sprinkled in sugar are quite simply, heaven on earth. Add to that a creamy custard filling, vanilla frosting and white chocolate balls and you have quite possibly one of the best donuts I’ve EVER had. Of course the best things in life often have their downsides and this tasty delicacy basically destroyed my macros for the day. It was totally worth it. I’ll be back to My French Cafe for sure!
6. Valkyrie Doughnuts (Orlando)
Where your taste buds go to heaven! We enjoyed several of Valkyrie Doughnuts best donuts after a visit to CrossFit MDI for a nutrition seminar. Our participants were shocked at first but by the end of the seminar they knew what was up! These aren’t your average lightweight donuts, these bad boys are dense! In a good way. You will be plenty satiated after one or two of these deliciously decadent donuts. I practically inhaled the s’mores donut after our workout. Jason opted for the fruity pebbz and the apple fritter which caused him him to reconsider his blanket ban on fruit and dessert combinations.Just about every donut shop we visit now he orders an apple fritter!

7. Sip n’ Dip Donuts (Saint Cloud)
We discovered this little gem of a spot thanks to the recommendation of the members at CrossFit Taino and CrossFit Junkies. We figured if two CrossFit boxes were singing it’s praises it was worth checking out. Well we weren’t sorry we stopped in at Sip N’ Dip and neither were our hosts Roxy and Randy. There’s nothing fancy about these donuts but sometimes keeping things simple just works.
