When did you start Flexible Eating?

I started on may 3rd of this year. That was the day I had my phone call with Jason. I had success last year doing a nutrition and exercise program that involved carb cycling and 2 hour workouts, 6 days a week. That program was great, though I got really burned out, was really strict with what I ate and my momentum ran out. I gained everything back and lost all motivation shortly after.

What prompted you to get started?

I found OYE via instagram and immediately signed up for the “I’m ready to eat more bundle“! Something about the sound of it just seemed to make sense. Haha! I was already macro tracking and understood all the basics, so I jumped right in.

What changes have you noticed in your body?

During my phone call with Jason I told him my goal weight was 148 ( I weighed 150). When he asked why, I said that I’ve been down to 143 before (Low carb-cycling) and I just didn’t feel like I looked good or that I could sustain that weight. Well since May 3rd, I’m down 7 pounds, sitting at that elusive 143. I feel amazing and that I absolutely believe this is a maintainable weight for myself.

Other non-scale victories? Less time working out, my “skinny” clothes are getting too big, and ice cream everyday.

What has been your biggest obstacle that you have overcome or are working on?

My biggest obstacle is definitely my sweet tooth that gets me in trouble sometimes (like I want ice cream AND donuts daily, haha), but I just pre-plan my next day with the treat I want to have.

What’s one piece of advice you would give someone that is just getting started?

One piece of advice for someone just getting started is not to stress. The beauty of flexible eating is just that, be flexible. Try to pre-plan out a day in advance but adjust it if you need to. It’ll be ok! And it’ll get easier. Stick with it!
