Hurrah it’s Sunday! A day of rest for most of us, either from work or from working out, Sundays provide that smug sense of satisfaction when getting into bed on a Saturday night knowing that you don’t have to set the alarm. But lie-ins and wod-free days aside, my favourite thing about Sundays is pancakes! And I suspect I’m not alone…
Going to the cinema can be a great way to enjoy a night out, free from the distraction of kids, pets and our phones! But it can also open us up to some hard-wired habits and cravings. Movie snacks are typically delicious but also calorically dense. Popcorn, Kazoozles, ice cream, M&Ms – are anyone else’s taste buds salivating? When you’re sat there in the dark it’s easy to let the intoxicating effects of those sugary treats take control.
Just because you’re a vegetarian, it doesn’t mean that you have to resign yourself to quorn and tofu day in and day out in order to meet your protein needs. Legumes and grains can offer a decent serving of protein as well as providing lots of essential vitamins and minerals. These spicy little sweetcorn fritters are the perfect way to start your day or to enjoy on a bed of greens at lunch.
Kale is widely recognized as a nutritional powerhouse. Coveted as a superfood ingredient in the diets of many celebs, the “queen of greens” has received a ton of hype in the media and on platforms like Goop. Despite all this though, it’s hard to get past the fact that it tastes like rabbit food!
When I was younger I wasn’t so into chocolate. But that’s only because I was into everything! Like candy and biscuits (that’s cookies to you) and cake & crips (chips in your world). Really, I didn’t discriminate between anything yummy. I loved and consumed all delicious tasting things equally!
Me and my sweet tooth LOVE this time of year! Its all too easy to let things get out of control with all the delicious desserts everyone brings to the table. That’s why when I get invited to a holiday party, I always make sure to bring a sweet and at least one side dish with me so I know exactly what’s in a couple of the things I’ll end up eating.
This recipe is inspired by the Drake family who have been dominating their macros for over 300 days now! Check out Justin Drake’s transformation on the blog and stay tuned for Ashley’s interview coming soon!
If you’re following us on our Instagram, y’all know that my breakfasts have been somewhat epic of late! In the last 7 days I’ve had donuts on four occasions, pancakes twice and a sausage and egg breakfast bagel once. I can confirm that life is peachy in the foodie city of Atlanta! 🙂 Key lime pie is waiting for me just over the border, but in the meantime I’ll be devouring pancakes and other southern delights! ?
I don’t know about you, but when I think of Fall a Starbuck’s Pumpkin Spice Latte always springs to mind! For those of you who who can’t live without a bit of pumpkin spice in your life, try out this low carb pumpkin pie smoothie. It’s great for breakfast or a snack and super filling from all the fiber that’s in pumpkin.
It’s avocado season! My second favorite time of the year – after Christmas ooobviously. And this year I’ve been lucky enough to broaden my experiences beyond Cayman’s home-grown & imports as I’ve sampled some of the finest California grown avocados from San Francisco to LA. Clearly I wasn’t going to be able to leave either location without experiencing Instagram’s most annoying food trend, the Avocado Toast.
