Making “rice” substitutes out of vegetables is all the rage right now! Not only is it a great way to get your veggies in and keep your carb macros in check, but it makes your meals that much more satisfying as you can invariably have a whole lot more! At least I know that whenever I measure out a portion of rice it always looks depressingly small in respect to its carb content.
When I was in my teens, I had unlimited access to an incredibly well-stocked pantry. My affinity for junk food was no doubt inherited from my dad. He was careful not to overindulge but I rarely remember a night where a chocolate bar or a bag of Walkers salt and vinegar chips wasn’t devoured! He’d munch away audibly enjoying his treats and remind us to, “keep everything in moderation, including moderation!”
These little protein balls are great to make in bulk and have on hand for satisfying those sweet-tooth cravings with minimal impact on your macros! Feel free to get creative with this recipe, using sprinkles, chocolate chips or cocoa powder, if cinnamon isn’t your jam!
This low-fat recipe comes courtesy of one of our amazingly talented clients, Laura. Mother of 3 and wife of Sarajevo-born entrepreneur, Saša, Laura has her hands full trying to keep all 5 mouths & bellies happy!
OMG these pancakes are literally to die for! ? They remind me of the epic pancakes I had in Vancouver at a cute little spot in Cambie called Jam Café. I remember having a hard time guesstimating the macros for that brunch – I damn near had a heart attack when they brought out my 2-inch-thick pancake stack the size of a dinner plate! Given that I was unable to eat anything for the rest of day I’d say those bad boys were not quite as macro-friendly as these!
This super simple dinner is perfect for you when want to impress but have zero time! It’s also a personal go-to for when I’m hoarding my carbs and fat for dessert – perfect timing for all those Easter eggs I’ll be devouring! ?
People who know me well enough, will
know that breakfast foods are my favorite type of food! I could eat pancakes, French
If you’re a fan of cake batter than you’re gonna LOVE this protein packed jar of oatmeal. Prepare it the night before so you can have it for breakfast even when your morning’s hectic. This is so tasty and filling it makes a great late night treat too! Now there’s no reason not to enjoy cake every day – hey, it’s somebody’s birthday somewhere! 😉
When Jason & I tied the knot last November, I wanted to make sure there were plenty of opportunities for us to enjoy spending time with friends and family who’d travelled all the way out to LA to see us. Naturally, being the unadulterated foodie that I am, one of the events I organized was a brunch at a super cool spot in Venice, called 26 Beach.
